7.1.2 GAW stations for the ozone layer and ultraviolet radiation observation

   JMA started ozone layer observation at the following stations: at Tsukuba in 1957, at Sapporo and Kagoshima in 1958, at Syowa in 1961, at Naha in 1974, and at Minamitorishima in 1994. JMA also started ultraviolet radiation observation at Tsukuba in 1990, and at Sapporo, Kagoshima, Naha and Syowa in 1991. The ozone and ultraviolet radiation observations at Kagoshima were terminated in March 2005. Table 7.1.2.1 lists the observation parameters used at the ozone and ultraviolet radiation observation stations; and Figure 7.1.2.1 shows the location of the stations observing ozone and ultraviolet radiation.
