At Ryori, up until January 2002, ground-base meteorological observation had been carried out for wind direction, wind speed, air temperature, atmospheric pressure, dew point, precipitation, global solar radiation, and duration of sunshine. Since February 2002, observations have been carried out with the observation parameters including wind direction, wind speed, air temperature, atmospheric pressure, dew point, precipitation, global solar radiation, duration of sunshine, direct solar radiation, and visibility. The meteorological observation field and data processing parts of meteorological observation system are shown in Figures 7.1.1.17 and 7.1.1.18, respectively.
At Minamitorishima Station, a JMA-80-type system had been used up until February 2002, and after that, a JMA-95-type system has been used for observation. The parameters observed are wind direction, wind speed, air temperature, atmospheric pressure, dew point, precipitation, global solar radiation, and duration of sunshine. The system used for measurements consists of an electric barometer, a windmill anemometer, an electric thermometer, an electric hygrometer (including dew point temperature), a tipping-bucket rain gauge, an electric pyranometer, and a sun-tracking pyrheliometer.
At Yonagunijima Station, a JMA-80-type system had been used up until February, 2000, and after that a JMA-95-type system has been used for observation. Parameters observed are wind direction, wind speed, air temperature, atmospheric pressure, dew point, precipitation, duration of sunshine, and visual observation parameters including cloud cover (until September 2008) or visibility (from October 2008). The system used for measurements consists of an electric barometer, a windmill anemometer, an electric thermometer, an electric hygrometer (including dew point temperature), a tipping-bucket rain gauge, a sun-tracking pyrheliometer, and a visibility meter (from October 2008, with a phenomenon identification function).
