Oceanographic and Marine Meteorological Observations by Research Vessels

Oceanographic and marine meteorological observations are conducted in the western North Pacific and in the seas adjacent to Japan by two JMA research vessels named the Ryofu Maru and the Keifu Maru. Background marine pollution and greenhouse gases are also observed. For details of the data provided on this website, please refer to Description and Format of Data.
The system of oceanographic and marine meteorological observations changed from 5 research vessels (the Ryofu Maru, the Keifu Maru, the Kofu Maru, the Seifu Maru and the Chofu Maru) to 2 ones (the Ryofu Maru and the Keifu Maru) in April 2010.
